Overview

Kobra shredder 260 TS C2 is an innovative cross cut shredder that features an intuitive touch screen panel for operation. This office shredder offers robust level-4 security. Its carbon hardened precision cutting knives can reliably and securely shred papers, optical disks (CDs/DVDs/Blu-rays) and credit cards. It has the capacity of shredding up to 14 sheets simultaneously with a maximum speed of 12 ft./min. Its 10.26-inch wide feed opening allows inserting standard as well as wide format papers.

The Kobra 260 TS C2 cross-cut shredder comes loaded with useful features such as an EPC (Electronic Power Control) system, which displays shredding load and assists the operator to optimize shredding capacity. The 'Energy Smart' management system puts the device in standby mode after 8 seconds of inactivity and switches it off after 4 hours of idle time. The shredder operates without consuming any energy in standby mode thereby reducing your overall energy footprint and utilities cost. Another useful feature of the unit is an automatic reverse mechanism, which prevents paper jams. The shredder features an automatic start/stop function, which enables the unit to begin shredding as soon as paper or media is placed on its feed opening. The shredder automatically stops after shredding is complete or if the waste bin is full.

The Kobra 260 TS C2 office shredder features two separate sets of cutting blades for paper and optical disks (CDs/DVDs/Blu-rays) or credit cards respectively. Similarly there are two separate 16-gallon capacity waste bags for separate collection of paper waste and plastic waste. Its continuous duty thermal protected motor allows it to operate non-stop without overheating. It operates using a heavy-duty chain with steel gears.

Kobra 260 TS C2 office shredder also features "Shred Guard" metal detection system, which immediately detects if any metal comes in contact with the feed opening. On detecting metal, it stops the operation immediately so as to avoid any damage to the cutting blades. This Kobra shredder also comes with the option of an automatic oiler, which keeps the cutting knives lubricated for better performance and durability.

Kobra 260 TS C2 Medium Volume Office Shredder

The Kobra 260 TS C2 shredder is my latest piece of office equipment. I needed a cross-cut shredder as well as the strip cut shredder that I already had. Both of my shredders are very different, and they were purchased for different uses. I think that the Kobra is a great machine. Here is why I purchased the machine:

• Sheet Capacity – The shredder can cut 14 sheets of paper at once. I think that this number is very good. Other shredders that I looked at could only handle 6-10 sheets at a time. Keep in mind that this is a cross-cut shredder so it takes longer for the machines to cut the documents once they pass through.


• Shred Capacity – I can shred paper and media. Many shredders in this class do not shred media and credit cards. I can insert CDs, credit cards, floppy disks, ID cards, and DVDs anytime I need. For What I paid, this is an amazing machine.


• LED Controls – This feature made it very convenient and easy to tell if something was wrong with the shredder. I can easy tell when the machine is overheated or there is a paper jam. I would call this a smart shredder because it can think for itself.

I did not like a few things about the shredder, including:

• Small Motor – The motor operates on 460 watts of power. This is not very powerful. I have to wonder if the machine will last as long as I expect.


• Throat Size – The throat size is only 10.25-inches wide. I have to fold papers that are larger that the feeding area when I shred papers of varying sizes.
